“Maritime Cooperation 2014” well prepared

  QINGDAO, April 22 (ChinaMil) -- The naval representatives from the countries participating in the "Maritime Cooperation 2014" multi-national maritime joint exercise set to be held on the founding anniversary of the Navy of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLAN) attended the final preparation meeting at the conference room of a naval port in Qingdao on the morning of April 21, 2014. Commanders of the participating forces listened to the briefing on the exercise plan, and the coordinated deployment of the participating forces was also made for various taskforces.

  During the meeting, the Chinese side introduced the exercise plan, the operation plan of various forces, the plan of taskforce communication drill, communication regulations and the plan of helicopters cooperation to the participating forces from the other 7 countries, and analyzed weather situation in the sea area for the exercise. Commanders of the participating forces proposed their demands.

  Reporter learned that19 Chinese and foreign warships, 7 helicopters and some marines will participate in this joint exercise. The participating forces will be organized into 3 joint taskforces to conduct such drills as taskforce communication, formation movement, maritime replenishment, joint rescue, joint anti-hijacking, and small firearms-shooting on April 23.
